Shift

In the sculptural series, the artist Egor Zigura turns to the theme of consciousness evolution, which is most noticeable precisely in the main milestones of the history of art, in its best examples. The cycle of monumental works, is made in bronze and represents sculptural portraits of various emotional states of a person: from anxious anticipation, despair and anger to absolute tranquillity.

Shift is also a fairly conventional portrait of the sensual duality of a person. Such polar emotional states as tranquillity vs. anger/horror/pain and acceptance vs. despair are somehow frozen in bronze. Our mythical structure of consciousness, which answers questions about the meaning of non-existence, the fate of the world and the importance of the personal decision in the world, seems to manifest here.
